David R. Stauffer, 79, of 982 Centerville Road, East Earl, died Friday, August 30, 2013 at his home after a brief illness.
Born in Earl Twp., he was the son of the late David W. and Mary (Reich) Stauffer. His wife, Annie W. (Zimmerman) Stauffer, died Jan. 17, 2011.
David worked for over 30 years as a welder for Terre Hill Concrete Products, retiring in 2008.
He was a member of the Martindale Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.
Surviving are eight children, Neil R., married to Carolyn (Shirk) Stauffer of East Earl, Ernest L., married to Deborah (Fairchild) Stauffer of Stevens, Orpha M., married to Vernon Shirk of Withee, WI, Clair D., married to Judith (Boss) Stauffer of Cumru Twp., Berks County, Annie Y. Stauffer, at home, Carl N. Stauffer of Philadelphia, Glenn E., married to Julie (Weaver) Stauffer of Milroy, and Verna R. Stauffer, at home; 21 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; three brothers and a sister, Horace R., married to Mary (Stauffer) Stauffer of Ephrata, Norman R. Stauffer of Ephrata, Beatrice R. Stauffer of Ephrata, and Lloyd R., married to Etta (Zimmerman) Stauffer of Dundee, NY; and a sister-in-law, Sis Stauffer of Akron.
Preceding him in death is a daughter, Alma Z. Stauffer; four brothers, Charles, Irvin, Paul, and Earl Stauffer; and five sisters, Margaret Shirk, Vera, Verna, Mary, and Elsie Stauffer.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Sept. 2 at 9 am at the late home with further services at 9:30 am at the Martindale Mennonite Church with the Bishop Titus Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held on Sunday at the late home from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Kindly omit flowers. Arrangements by Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill.
