David S. Zeiset

David S. Zeiset, 80, of Glenwood Dr., Ephrata, died Sunday, December 9, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Ephrata Twp., the son of the late Ivan and Sadie (Snyder) Zeiset and the husband of Elva (Kurtz) Zeiset with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.

David was a member of the Martindale Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference. He was a lifelong farmer. He served two years of 1-W service at South Mountain in Chambersburg, PA.

Surviving in addition to his wife are five sons, Marvin, married to Grace (Martin) Zeiset of Manheim, Clair, married to Sharon (Weaver) Zeiset of Ephrata, Nelson, married to Rosene (Newswanger) Zeiset of Denver, Eugene, married to Joy (Weaver) Zeiset of Ephrata, and Jerry, married to Linette (Horst) Zeiset of Annville; three daughters, Janet, married to Allen Knarr of Bechtelsville, Marilyn, married to William Martin, III of New Holland, and Joanne, married to Nelson Horst of Lincoln University; 28 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; 2 foster great-grandchildren; a brother, Ivan Zeiset of Ephrata; and two sisters, Miriam, married to Samuel Musser of Lebanon, and Edna Good of Denver.

Preceding him in death are two sisters, Emma Eby, and Sadie Mae Horst; two infant brothers; and an infant grandson, Nathaniel David Zeiset.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 13 at 9 am at the Martindale Fellowship Center, 352 Martindale Road, Ephrata with further services at 9:30 am at the Martindale Mennonite Church with the Bishop Amos G. Martin Officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held at the Martindale Fellowship Center on Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 pm.
