David Merle Zook

David Merle Zook, 40, of Reinholds, passed away unexpectedly of cardiac arrest on October 9, 2023 at Wellspan York Hospital.

Born in New Holland, he was the son of Leon M. and Sarah B. (Lapp) Zook.

He was the loving husband of Gabriella R. (Feliciano) Zook, whom he married on February 9, 2019.

He was a member of Shiloh Mennonite Church and was employed by Beiler Hydraulics for the last three years as a shipping specialist and previously owned ZKbrothers Roofing, LLC. He will be remembered most for being a good father, who loved his children and enjoyed having fun with them biking, camping and fishing. He would take his son, Emerson on 3 generation camping trips with Grandpa Zook and Uncle Jason. He loved his wife and took good care of her. They challenged each other in good ways, which brought growth, they did things together. Dave also enjoyed food: pizza, wings, roast beef, potatoes, corn and the list could go on, however the food list wouldn’t include green things. Dave also was serious about his faith and spiritual growth, he was part of a men’s accountability group and he lived out his faith through loving his wife, family and others.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his children; Emerson D. Zook (3), Esperanza R. Zook (1) and one expected in January, his siblings; Jason R. Zook and Arlene S. wife of Loyal D. Miller, his in laws; Wendell and Julie Nolt and his wife’s biological mother; Diana R. Althouse.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Martindale Mennonite Church, 171 Hurst Road, Ephrata PA 17522. There will be a viewing held at Martindale Mennonite Church on Friday, October 13, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
