Denise K. Conners, 55, of Leola, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Hospice & Community Care, Mt. Joy, after a 19 month heroic fight against cancer.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late R. Glenn and Dorothy (Burkhart) Sweigart.
Denise was employed at Eurofins in Leola at the time of her death.
She enjoyed the beach, dancing, and sitting out on a deck chatting with friends while enjoying the tranquility of nature. Denise enjoyed taking bus trips with her sister and mother until her mother’s death on Sept. 26, 2012. She quietly, but strongly, made the world a better place during her brief stay here. During her many trials and tribulations throughout her life, Denise remained true to her belief of always trying “to be the better person” and was continuously concerned about the feelings of others, right up until she took her last breath.
She is survived by her daughter, Courtney L. Springer and her fiancé Mark Roberts of Kodak, TN; her granddaughter, Olivia M. Springer of Kodak, TN; her grandson, Isaiah K. Springer of Kodak, TN; her sister, Karen, married to Barry Bachman of Columbia; along with aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout the country.
Denise’s family would like to thank her “special band of angels” who helped care for and visit her these past few weeks of her life. Her journey was a special one due to these angels.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 15 at 11 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 221 E. Main St., New Holland, with the Reverend Jacquelyn H. Roderick officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held on Monday at the Beck Funeral Home, 315 E. Main St., New Holland, from 6-8 pm and on Tuesday at the Church from 10-11 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Lancaster County SPCA, 599 Chesapeake St., Lancaster, PA 17602. To send the family online condolences visit us at www.beckfuneral.com.
In keeping with Denise’s love of summer and “being comfortable” the family welcomes her friends to dress brightly and casually comfortable for her service.
