Dennis J. Bixler

Dennis J. Bixler, 83, of New Holland, passed away on July 9, 2025, in his residence.

Born in New Kensington, he was the son of the late Henry C. and Roberta (Berger) Bixler.

He was the husband of Karen A. Morris, with whom he shared 12 years of marriage.

He received his master’s degree from Kutztown University and was an art teacher for Downingtown School District for over 35 years. He was an active member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association. He enjoyed traveling in his motor home with Karen throughout the United States and photographing their travels.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Karen, his children, Deborah P. Carlin wife of Tom Nestor of West Norriton, Douglas M. Bixler husband of Sarah of Hampton, NJ and Katharine E. Bixler of Edgewater, FL, grandchildren, Edwin Carlin husband of Carissa, Erinn McCandless wife of Thomas and Adrienne Downham wife of Nicholas and great grandchildren, Adelaide and Parker Carlin and Madison McCandless.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Denise M. Bixler.

Services will be held private at the convenience of the family.
