Deoine E. Sauder, 90, of 125 S. Broad St., Lititz, formerly of Gordonville and Morgantown, died Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Audubon Villa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. Sauder in 1998.
Born in Rigby, ID, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Jennie (Parks) Eschler.
Deoine worked as a seamstress at the form SLC Fashions, Blue Ball.
She was a former member of Harmony United Methodist Church and served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. She had been a past member of the American Legion Joanna Post 537 Auxiliary. She loved playing cards and putting together puzzles, was a Phillies fan and a country music fan.
Surviving is a daughter-in-law, Sandra R. (Shelly) Sauder, Lancaster; four grandchildren: Daniel D. (Jean Marie) Sauder, New Holland; Kevin A. Sauder, Lancaster; Katie D. (Richard) Ragone, Albany, NY, Terri L. Sauder, Thailand; two great-grandchildren, Brie and James “JD”.
She was preceded in death by her son, James R. Sauder in 2001 and five siblings: Carl Eschler, Milton Eschler, Eva Clark, Marie Drake, and Mina Stoddard.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, March 26 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Monument Bible Church, 1660 Mine Rd., Paradise, PA. Interment will be in Harmony United Methodist Cemetery, Morgantown. A viewing will be held at the church on Thursday from 10 – 11 a.m. If desired, memorials may be sent to the American Legion Joanna Post 537, 4499 N. Twin Valley Rd., Morgantown, PA 19543.
