Devon Claire Hynds

Devon Claire Hynds, 33, of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully in her husbands arms at Lancaster General Hospital, on February 9, 2025. Devon was born in Lancaster to her late father, Kelvin H. Messner and her mother, Joan (Feinour) Barr. She was married on October 13, 2023, to her beloved husband, Stephen Matthew Hynds who survives at home.

Devon was a gentle spirit with a wonderful sense of humor, who loved her family deeply. She lived for and loved Jesus. Devon devoted her life to helping others. She cared for others, providing end-of-life care for individuals through hospice and most recently as an orthodontic assistant. She had an adventurous spirit, once swimming with sharks, she loved to cook, laugh, color, and decorate her home. She was a fan of the Ravens and Penn State.

In addition to Stephen and her mother, Devon is survived by her stepfather, Bruce Barr, her siblings; Casey Neely wife of Nicholas, Tony Messner husband of Ashley, Matthew Messner and Joseph Messner. She is also survived by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ronald and Sandra Hynds, her brother-in-law Kyle Hynds, sisters-in-law Crystal Hynds and Nicole Porter and her husband Mike. In addition, she is survived by her adoring nieces and nephews; Isabella Neely, Eliana Neely, Raegan Messner, Allyssa Porter, and Ethan Porter. A host of extended family members also survive, in addition to her four-legged loved ones, Kato and Harley.
