Dietmar R. Solbrig, 87, of Terre Hill, passed away on August 12, 2025 in his residence.
Born in Ellefeld, Vogtland Germany, he was the son of the late Rudi Willi and Hildegard (Ziegner) Solbrig.
He was the husband of Kathleen M. (Studenroth) Solbrig, with whom he shared 30 years.
He was a member of the Lutheran faith and was trained at a very early age in the mechanics of the knitting machines in the textile industry.
Dick was able to escape East Germany into West Germany in 1954 and learned his trade as a Stricker (knitting machine engineer). This trade allowed him to emigrate into the United States in 1956. He continued with this profession for most of his life.
He is survived by his wife, children, Monika Santucci wife of Robert, Richard Solbrig husband of Susan, Brenda Pappas wife of George and Eric Solbrig husband of Sandra, son in law, Mark Jeffrey, grandchildren, Jeffery, Sebastian, Donovan, Joshua and Daniel, great granddaughter, Kacy and sister, Ingabord Seifried (Germany).
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Diane Jeffrey.
Services will be held private at the convenience of the family. Interment in Center Union Cemetery.
