Donald J. Weaver

Donald J. Weaver, 87, of 120 Vine St., Terre Hill, died Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Ephrata Community Hospital following an illness. Born in Terre Hill he was the son of the late Herbert S. and Alberta (Fry) Weaver. He celebrated 63 years of marriage on Oct. 24 to Margaret E. (Martin) Weaver.

He was a graduate of the Terre Hill High School and later retired from the former Sperry New Holland Corp. as a Senior Planner after 38 years of service. Following his retirement he worked part time until November for the Terre Hill Boro. as a Zoning Officer.

During WWII he served in the US Army as Staff Sgt. in the Philippines and with the occupation forces in Japan.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Douglas J., married to Valarie (Gilleland) Weaver of New Holland; a daughter, Judi Quireyns, widow of George L., of Holbrook, MA; two grandchildren, Brendan and Margaret Anne; two sisters, Bernice Kissinger of Racine, WI, and Joan Eberly of Terre Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are two brothers, C. Herbert and Willard Weaver.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 17 at 2 pm at the Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, PO Box 247, 110 E. Main St., Terre Hill with the Reverend Al Hoffman and the Reverend Wilmer Martin officiating. Interment will be in the Terre Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church on Saturday from 12:30-2pm.
