Donna Jean Kennedy, 69, of New Holland, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 7, 2026 following a brief illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. Donna was born in Lancaster to her late parents, Ivan and Naomi (Horning) Weaver. Her beloved husband of 51 years, Gregg A. Kennedy survives at home.

Donna was a longtime member of Evangelical United Methodist Church, now Friendship Church in New Holland, where she volunteered with community meals, vacation Bible school, and participated in various Bible studies. She was also a member of the praise team. Donna worked as a bookkeeper for Weis Markets for 42 years before retiring. Because she was a master at her craft, after 8 months of retirement, they convinced her to return for another 4 years. For their 50th wedding anniversary, Donna and her husband Gregg were able to fulfill a lifelong dream of visiting Alaska. Donna enjoyed sewing, reading, and spending time in the garden. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her three grandsons. Long weekends with them in the mountains with crisp fall weather were especially treasured. Donna will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved her, but her memory will live on in even the smallest everyday moments that they shared.

In addition to her husband, Donna is survived by her children, son, Ryan Kennedy and his wife Karolin, of Ephrata, daughter, Lindsey Kennedy, of Bowmansville, and her grandchildren, Jacob, Daniel, and Wesley Kennedy. She is also survived by her siblings, Linda Bohannon and her husband Terry, Ray Weaver and his wife Caroline, Sharon Foley, and sister-in-law, Jody Weaver. In addition to her parents, Donna was predeceased in death by her sister, Fay Valentin and her brother, Larry Weaver.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, beginning at 2:00 PM at Friendship United Methodist Church, 120 West Main Street, New Holland, PA, with Pastor Connor Felty officiating. There will be a time for visitation following the service. A private interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Evangelical United Methodist Cemetery, New Holland.
