Doris Ilene Chubb Wells

Doris Ilene Chubb Wells, of Covington, GA, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024, at the age of 86.

Mrs. Wells was hardworking and loved her family dearly. Once all of her children were in school, she started working as a waitress and hostess. She was a championship bowler and held the highest game by a woman for 20 years, a 299, at Blue Ball Lanes. Mrs. Wells never lost her sense of humor, loved to shop and was an excellent cook. She also enjoyed being an avid gardener and loved her flowers, and watching football, golf, and hockey. She was a member of Cedar Grove Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Wells was preceded in death by her daughter, Alice Chubb; and first husband, Don H. Chubb.

Survivors include her husband, Louis Wells; children, Lynn Lantz, Shaun Chubb (Marybeth Mellinger), Phillip Chubb (Lori); 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; stepchildren, Marcia Fox (Anthony), Mark Wells (Gwen); 4 step grandchildren; as well as 7 step great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at Cedar Grove Presbyterian Church, 4833 Division Hwy., East Earl with Pastor Kris Poontajak officiating. Interment will be private in Bridgeville Cemetery. The Beck Funeral Home, New Holland, is in charge of arrangements.
