Doris Rynier, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 24 at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late James J. Rynier of New Holland, PA. Born in Phoenixville, she was the daughter of Lester Earl Martin and Martha (Rylander) Martin.
Doris retired from the United States Postal Service, where she worked as a rural mail carrier.
She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Paradise, where she attended weekly worship services, Sunday school, and participated in the prayer shawl ministry. Doris enjoyed reading, needlecrafts and travel. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with family.
Doris is survived by her children, Jamie Gebhardt and her husband Scott, of Harrisburg; Steven Rynier, of Gordonville; Peter Rynier and his wife Jennifer, of West Hempfield Twp.; Sherry Plank and her husband Dean, of Gap; and Suzette Rynier, of Augusta, GA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Gareth Gebhardt and Holly Gebhardt, of Harrisburg; Norah Rynier and Lila Rynier, of West Hempfield Twp.; Nicholas Plank, of New Holland; Kaitlyn Plank, of Lancaster; and her great grandson, Rowan Plank.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 3001 Lincoln Hwy. East, Paradise. Visitation prior to the service will begin at 10:00 AM. Pastor Moon Ho Kim and Pastor Gene Erickson will be officiating.
