Doris H. Smith

Doris H. Smith, 79, of 255 Balsam Court, New Holland, formerly of North Plainfield, NJ, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at Garden Spot Village. She is survived by her husband Paul S. Smith, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage.

Born in Paterson, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Hampton H. and Veria Ida (Caccia) Hall. She graduated Hawthorne High School, Hawthorne, NJ, in 1952. Doris was a secretary for BOC Gasses, Murray Hill, NJ. She was a member of Christian Fellowship Church, New Holland.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter Dr. Lorraine Bruce, of Seneca, SC, and a son, the Reverend Brian Paul Smith of Lanham, MD., five grandchildren, and a sister, Marlene Van Alstine of Northridge, CA.

She was preceded in death by a brother Wayne and a sister Arlene Hall

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Christian Fellowship Church, 758 Spruce Road, New Holland, PA 17557, with the Revs. Fred Raupp and Doug Bozung officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to GSV Benevolent Fund or to the Missionary Fund of Christian Fellowship Church, addresses above.
