Doris E. Weidner

Doris Esther (Leakey) Weidner, 83, passed away December 17th, 2023. She grew up in Terre Hill, Pa, living her final years there as well. She was fond of this town and committed to community work, including routinely caring for flower beds at the local park, serving at Community meals, and raising money for community groups with her annual Christmas Bazaar.

She was born in Edmonston Maryland, the youngest of seven children of Clarence and Esther Leakey. She was preceded in death by her brothers William Leakey, Harold Leakey and Jack Leakey, as well as sister Shirley Peachey. She is survived by her sisters Stella Eshelman and Janet Weber. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Joseph Kern Weidner who died in 2005. She is also survived by her three children: Joseph (Kim) Weidner, John (Candice) Weidner and Amy Sue (Jay) Schickling; grandchildren: Dylan Weidner, Anthony Mendoza, Susan and Robert Schickling, Andrew, Aden and Jackson Weidner; and her dear friends George and Anita Oppel, who we consider family.

She knew and organized her life around Jesus and the Dewey decimal system. She is well known for her dandelion wine, and her canned and baked goods, especially her jellies and fruitcake.

Her funeral will be at the Eckenroth Funeral Home 209 E. Main St., in Terre Hill, PA on December 26th, at 11am, with visitation between 10am and 11am.
