Dorothy M. Harner

Dorothy M. Harner, 96, formerly of Morgantown, died Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Harner in 2000.

Born in Churchtown, she was the daughter of the late George S. and Mary (Reifsnyder) Hoffman.

Dorothy worked at Metropolitan Edison Co. from 1945-1955 in Reading and then operated Harner’s General Store in Morgantown with her family until it closed in 1975.

She was a member of St. John Center Lutheran Church, East Earl.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Caernarvon Cemetery, Morgantown. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Center Lutheran Church, 599 Reading Rd., East Earl, PA 17519. The Eckenroth Home for Funerals Terre Hill is in charge of arrangements.
