Dwane L. Hostetter

Dwane L. Hostetter, 80, a resident of Garden Spot Village, went home to be with his Lord on July 28, 2025.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late I. Donald and Verna (Umble) Hostetter.

He was the loving husband of Priscilla E. (Hosler) Hostetter, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.

He graduated from Lancaster Mennonite School in 1962.

Dwane was a man of strong faith and an active member of Ephrata Church of the Brethren, where he served in various roles over the years. He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club of New Holland. He first worked for Victor F. Weaver, then he joined the family business of Hostetter Realty. In 1986 he opened the New Holland office where he was broker and owner until his retirement in 2022.

He loved playing fast pitch softball for numerous teams over his 25+ year career. Recently he was inducted into the USA Softball of PA Hall of Fame along with the SH Good Softball Team who won 2 national championships. As an avid sports enthusiast he was part of the New Holland Tennis League, loved golfing with family and friends, and most recently enjoyed many friendships through pickleball. He found great joy spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved spending time at the mountains and OC Maryland.

Dwane is survived by his wife, Priscilla, children, Greg Hostetter husband of Stacy and Jen McDowell wife of Gerald, grandchildren, Micah Hostetter husband of Melissa, Austin Hostetter, Mataya Bunkoff wife of Addison, Brett McDowell and Adam McDowell and great granddaughter, Mia Hostetter. He is also survived by his siblings, Donald (Dorcas) Hostetter, Darlene (James) Byler, Donna (Luke) Mosemann, Dean (Donna) Hostetter, David (Ada) Hostetter, Dale (Dorothea) Hostetter, Cynthia (Thomas) Talbot, Rhonda (Gideon) Lapp and Jerry (Anita) Hostetter.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepmother, Pluma (King) Hostetter and siblings, Doris Garber and Dayton Hostetter.

The family would like to thank those from Garden Spot Village and Caring Hospice of Lancaster who compassionately and lovingly cared for Dwane.

A Visitation will be held Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ephrata Church of the Brethren. An additional Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM at the Ephrata Church of the Brethren, 201 Crescent Avenue, Ephrata, PA. 17522.
