E. Nora Johnson

E. Nora Johnson, 88, of 384 E. Jackson St., New Holland, died Friday November 18 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard T. Johnson in 2000. Born in Salisbury Twp., she was the daughter of the late J. Harry and Esther L. (Frankhouser) Wetzler. Nora had been employed at the former Frank Ix and Sons Silk Mill. Currently she was a member of the New Holland United Methodist Church but had been a member for 60 years at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Narvon where she served as an organist and Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed crocheting. Surviving are four children: Betty Cates, Bridgeville, TX; Mary Jane married to Angel Delgado, Terre Hill; Howard, Jr. married to Gale (Sumerfield) Johnson, Chagrin Falls, OH and Esther Ann married to Barry Lefever, Columbia, IN; 24 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Billie Johnson and two grandchildren. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 22 at 2 PM at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland with Pastor Susan Sliker officiating. Interment will be in Ranck’s United Methodist Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 – 2 PM.
