Earl S. Fisher, 94, of East Earl, passed away early Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015 at Denver Health & Rehab. Ctr. after a brief illness. His wife Evelyn E. (Beinhower) Fisher, with whom he shared 69 years of marriage, died Sept. 13, 2015.
Born in Jeffersonville, OH, he was the son of the late Ray E. and Salina (Straley) Fisher.
He retired as a farmer and manager at Charlie Groff’s Farm, (the former Stauffer Homestead Farm), where he raised purebred livestock beef cattle. He also worked part time at the former Wengers Greenhouse and at Petal Perfect as a delivery driver.
He also served 37 years with the New Holland Farmers Fair Association, the Red Lion Grange in his younger years, and the Young Farmers Association.
He was a member of Ranck’s United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time at the family mountain retreat.
Earl is survived by three children, William R. Fisher, husband of Jeanne (Henry), of East Earl, Robert E. Fisher, husband of Marie (Landis), of Ephrata, and Mary Louise Andrew, wife of Michael, of Terre Hill; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosetta M. Fisher; a granddaughter, Kelly Marie Fisher; a sister, Margaret Mattson; and a brother, Joseph Fisher. He was the last of his family.
His funeral will be held on Monday, Nov. 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Ranck’s U. M. Church, 700 Ranck Road, New Holland, PA 17557, with Pastor Kevin Readman officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 – 11 a.m. If desired, memorials in Earl’s name may be sent to Ranck’s U. M.
