Earl W. Hoover

Earl W. Hoover, 89, of East Earl, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2016 at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Anna M. (Good) Hoover, whom preceded him in death in 2015.

Born in Earl Township, he was a son of the late Daniel N. and Lydia (Weaver) Hoover.

Earl was a member of and served as a trustee and custodian for Goodville Mennonite Church. He worked as a maintenance man for SLC Fashion Corp. of Blue Ball for over 33 years. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, and spending time with his family.

Surviving are two daughters: Brenda Andes of New Holland and Diane Hoover of East Earl; a brother, Elmer W. Hoover, husband of Vera (Sensenig), of New Holland; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two sisters: Julia Mumma and Eva Jane Hoover.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 11 AM at Goodville Mennonite Church, 1556 Main St, Goodville, PA 17528 with Bruce Sauder and Kelly Martin officiating. Interment will be held privately by the family. Visitation will occur on Saturday at the church from 10-11 AM.
