Earl R. Martin, 84, of 120 N. Churchtown Rd., Narvon, died Thursday, November 6, 2014 at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella W. (Nolt) Martin in 2006.
Born in Goshen, IN, he was the son of the late Elias and Amanda (Ramer) Martin.
He was a retired farmer and a member of Churchtown Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.
Surviving are 16 children: Janet married to Leland Reiff, Narvon; Alta married to Ronald Weaver, Craig, CO; Harry married to Anna Mae Martin, Reinholds; Elsie married to Kermit Martin, Quarryville; Glenn married to Sylvia Martin, Narvon; Noah married to Carolyn Martin, Trout Run; Amos married to Elaine Martin, Abbeyville, SC; Elvin married to Ruth Martin, Abbeyville, SC; Vera married to Galen Hoover, Gooding, ID; William married to Janice Martin, Due West, SC; Mervin married to Lisa Martin, Narvon; Earl Ray married to Lynette Martin, Wellsboro; Lamar married to Ali Martin, Newmanstown; Louella married to Randy Nolt, Reinholds; Leonard married to Kelley Martin, Robesonia; and Diane married to Jonathon Hurst, Rosebush, MI; 62 grandchildren; 73 great grandchildren; a sister, Susie Weaver, Wakarusa, IN and a brother Paul R. Martin, Narvon.
He was preceded in death by a grandchild, five brothers and seven sisters.
His funeral will be held on Monday, November 10, 2014 at 9 a.m. at the Marlin Hoover residence with further services at 9:30 a.m. at Churchtown Mennonite Church with Bishop Elam Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at the Marlin Hoover residence, 1981 N. Churchtown Rd., East Earl, on Sunday from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Kindly omit flowers. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland is in charge of arrangements.
