Earl L. Schulze, Jr., 55, of 554 W. Broad St., New Holland, died Sunday, December 28, 2014 as a result of a house fire. His wife of 30 years, Denise A. (Summers) Schulze, survives.
Born in Honey Brook, he was the son of the late Earl L. Schulze, Sr. and Pauline E. “Betty” (Jacobs) Schulze.
Earl had been a welder for over 20 years at various companies in the area.
He was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church where he had served as a youth leader and the bell ringer on Sunday mornings. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and restoring old furniture.
Earl served in the U. S. Navy aboard the U. S. S. Hassayampa.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Morgan Michael Schulze, New Holland and Ethan John Schulze, New Holland; a granddaughter Jaylynn Rineer; a sister Susan Brill, Lancaster, and 12 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Zwally and Tina Burkholder.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Evangelical United Methodist Church, 276 W. Main St., New Holland with Pastor Ray Voran officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. If desired, memorials may be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517
