Edith D. Girvin, 80, of Intercourse died unexpectedly Monday, December 30, 2013 at Lancaster General Hospital. She was married for 58 years to Paul R. Girvin who survives.
Born in Intercourse, she was the daughter of the late Harry R. and Grace (Caldwell) Diller.
A graduate of East Lampeter High School, she worked as a teller in banking for 40 years at the First National Bank of Intercourse, New Holland Farmers Bank and Commonwealth Bank.
She was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church, New Holland where she sang in the choir for many years. She enjoyed travelling, going to their farm in Chambersburg, town luncheons, high school reunions and playing cards.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister, Gladys Carter, Scotland and Robert married to Joan Diller, Lancaster.
She was preceded in death by six siblings: William Diller, Lilly Good, Helen Bair, Grace Matros, Ethel Zimmerman, and Harry Diller.
Her memorial service will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, January 3, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 221 E. Main St., New Holland, PA 17557 with the Rev. Jacquelyn H. Roderick officiating. Private interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Friends will be received at the church on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Kindly omit flowers.
