Edith Shirk Martin

Edith S. Martin, 77, of Stevens, passed away at home on Monday, April 13, 2026.

She was the wife of Michael W. Martin and they would have been married 52 years this coming Saturday. Born in Blue Ball, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Ella Shirk Nolt.

Edith was a member of the Muddy Creek Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference. She was a homemaker who enjoyed marking quilts for over 30 years.

Surviving besides her husband is a daughter, Darlene wife of Melvin Z. Martin of Stevens; a son, Richard husband of Dorcas Z. Martin of Narvon; 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; a sister, Esther Nolt of East Earl; 5 brothers, Melvin husband of Mabel Nolt of East Earl, Allen husband of Miriam Nolt of Elkhart, IN, Wayne husband of Ella Nolt of East Earl, Edwin husband of Vera Nolt of Withee, WI, and Paul Nolt of East Earl; a half-brother, Aaron Nolt of Kutztown; 2 half-sisters, Ella Newswanger of Narvon, and Lydia Nolt of Honey Brook; and a sister-in-law, Esther Nolt of Withee, WI. She was preceded in death by siblings, Sadie Nolt, Adam Nolt, 2 infant brothers, Eli Nolt, Minnie Zimmerman, Mary Fox, Emma Martin and Phares Nolt.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 20, at 9:30 A.M. at the Stauffer Pike Mennonite Church, 2530 Division Highway, Ephrata, PA with Bishop Leon Zimmerman officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. Viewings will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Martindale Mennonite Fellowship Center, 352 Martindale Road, Ephrata, PA.
