Edna B. Martin, 60, of 411 Reidenbach Road, New Holland, died Monday, May 19, 2014 at her home after a brief illness.
Born in Leola, she was the daughter of the late Maria (Burkholder) Reiff and the late Elam, husband of Ada Reiff. Her husband, Melvin R. Martin, died in 1997.
Edna was a homemaker and a member of the New Holland Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.
Surviving are six sons and four daughters, Mary Kathryn, married to Aaron Nolt of Dorchester, WI, Louis Ray, married to Rachel (Brubaker) Martin of New Holland, Lois Ann, married to Leon Newswanger of Dorchester, WI, Aaron Eugene, married to Martha (Newswanger) Martin of Meadville, MO, Kervin Lee, married to Kathryn (Leid) Martin of New Holland, David Clair, married to Pauline (Newswanger) Martin of Dorchester, WI, Louise, married to Elam Horning of East Earl, Esther Mae, married to Clifford Martin of Charles City, IA, Jay Melvin Martin and Paul Ivan Martin both at home; 43 grandchildren; two brothers, Paul, married to Verna Reiff of Leola, and Edwin, married to Emma Reiff of Leola; and five sisters, Alta Rissler of Leola, Mary, married to Allen Zimmerman of East Earl, Vera, married to Walter Brubaker of Kutztown, Esther, married to Benjamin Oberholtzer of Shiloh, OH, and Lizzie, married to Aaron Horning of Shiloh, OH.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband is a grandson, Josiah Martin; a sister, Martha Zimmerman; and a brother, Chester Reiff.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 26 at 9 am at the late home with further services at 9:30 am the New Holland Old Order Mennonite Church with the Bishop Titus H. Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held at the late home on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Kindly omit flowers. Arrangements by Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland.
