Edna M. Hoover

Edna M. Hoover, 86, of 813 Glenwood Dr., Ephrata, died Friday, January 9, 2015 at Ephrata Community Hospital. Her husband of 59 years, Melvin M. Hoover, survives.

Born in Ephrata Twp., she was the daughter of the late Samuel K. and Daisy (Getz) Martin.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Pequea Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children: Ruth Ann married to Clair Hoover, New Holland; Curvin married to Jane Hoover, Kinzers; Mary Jane Martin, Ephrata; Melvin, Jr. married to Anna Hoover, Berrysburg; Nelson married to Dawn Hoover, Lebanon; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four siblings: Paul G. Martin, Lititz; Ella married to Adam Oberholtzer, Blue Ball; Emma High, Ephrata; Elizabeth married to Luke Snader, Reinholds; and a sister-in-law, Janice Martin, Lancaster.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Vernon Martin, a sister Mary Gerhart, and brothers Wayne, Eli, and Ivan Martin.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 9 a.m. at Fairmount Homes Farm Crest Chapel with further services at 10 a.m. Pequea Mennonite Church with Bishop Curvin Zimmerman, Marlin Zimmerman, Paul Newswanger, and Matthew Eberly officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at Fairmount Homes Farm Crest Chapel on Tuesday from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Kindly omit flowers.
