Edward Ray Duffy

Edward Ray Duffy, 71, of 100 Abbeyville Rd., Lancaster, died Monday, September 2 at ManorCare.

Born in Mountville, he was son of the late Karl K. and Helen P. (Zook) Duffy.

He graduated from Garden Spot High School in 1961 and pursued a Bachelor’s Degree from Memphis State University and a Master’s Degree form Millersville University.

He had served in the Air Force in Hawaii and had worked with the Boy Scouts in Hawaii.

He retired in 2005 after 25 years as a caseworker with the Department of Public Welfare. He had also provided transportation to the Amish community.


Surviving is a brother, Robert Eugene Duffy, Salunga and a sister Dorothy L. married to Carl H. Hess, New Holland; a niece and a nephew, and seven great nieces and nephews.


A viewing will be held at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland on Wednesday, September 4 form 6 – 8 pm. Private interment will be in Mt. Eden Lutheran Cemetery. Online condolences may be posted at www.groffeckenroth.com.
