Edward C. Remp

Edward C. “Eddie” Remp, 83, of Lobin Road, East Earl, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the Denver Nursing Home after a brief illness.

Born in Mohnton, he was the son of the late Edward and Grace (Mohn) Remp.

Eddie worked as a mechanic, along with driving dump truck, for 45 years for E.J. Brenneman Paving Company in West Lawn. He also operated his own lawn mower repair business from his home for several years.

He was a member of the Reading Fairgrounds Racing Historical Society and he enjoyed racing modified cars, usually #4.

Surviving is a daughter, Linda, married to Donald Heilman of Adamstown; a son, David Remp and his friend Sherry Martin of Ephrata; seven grandchildren, Jessica Heilman, Michael, married to Nicole Heilman, Kevin Heilman, Heather Heilman, Stephanie Remp, Erica Bergeron, and Amanda, married to Josh Ferrari; two great grandchildren, Dallas Heilman and Cyrus Solt; three sisters, June Kohl, Barbara Brightenstein, and Theresa Schnader; and a lifetime childhood friend, Donnie Schonour.

Preceding him in death is a sister, Maryanne Remp.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 7 at 10 am at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland. The family will receive friends from 9 - 10 am.
