Edward H. Williams, Jr., 70, of New Holland PA passed into the arms of Jesus on July 18, after an 8 month battle with cancer.
He was born in Cecil County MD on February 17, 1946 to Edward H. and Dorothy T. Williams. He is survived by his wife, Connie Schroll Williams. They celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in February 2016.
He will be missed by his children Jeffrey Williams (Deanna), Elkton MD, Michelle Dalton (Kevin), Rising Sun MD, Amy Ingerson (Timothy), Colora MD, R. Matthew Good (Katherine Robb), Ephrata PA, Nicole Martin (Chadwick), New Holland PA, and Charlotte Oswald (Bradley), New Holland PA. He is known as Pop-pop to Samantha, Brittany, Paige, Jared, Cody, Taylor, Chloe, Emma, and Zoey. Also surviving are two brothers Parkes Williams, Elkton MD, Kevin Williams (Janice), Elkton MD, and two sisters, Connie Rogers, Elkton MD, and Christine King (Darrel), Rising Sun MD. His mother-in-law, Charlotte Daugherty, also survives.
Ed was raised on a dairy farm and graduated from Rising Sun High School in 1964. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for four years. He was a member of Calvary Church where he served as an usher and had been active in LIFE Ministries. Until his death, he was employed by Regal Abstract, Lancaster PA as manager and settlement officer.
He is known for his dedication to his colleagues and clients, his sense of humor, and making a variety of flavors of homemade ice cream!
A viewing will be held at Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Road, Lancaster PA on Sunday evening, July 24, 2016 from 5-8pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 1:30 pm at Calvary Church, with a visitation beginning at 12 noon. Internment will be at Evangelical United Methodist Church, New Holland PA, with full military honors.
