Edwin Harvey Bowermaster

Edwin H. Bowermaster, Jr. 87, a resident of Garden Spot Village, New Holland, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019.

He was married 65 years to Pat Shirk Bowermaster. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Edwin H., Sr. and Mary Grace Lehman Bowermaster.

Edwin grew up on farms in Bart Twp. and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict as a radio operator using the Morse Code. Edwin retired from E. M. Herr, Inc. in Quarryville after 21 years of employment. He enjoyed raising seeing eye puppies as a hobby. He attended the Garden Spot Village Community Church.

Surviving besides his wife is a daughter, Lisa wife of Allan Buffenmyer of Ephrata; two sons, Karl husband of Jeannine Bowermaster of Vail, AZ, and David Bowermaster of Lancaster; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Bowermaster and Richard husband of Linda Bowermaster; and two sisters, Barbara wife of Edward Baylor and Mary Grace Steen. He was preceded in death by a sister Arlene Pfautz.

The family would like to thank the staff of Garden Spot Village and Hospice and Community Care for the excellent care they provided to Edwin over the last days of his life.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 7, at 2:00 P.M. at the Chapel at Garden Spot Village, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, PA with Chaplain Chet Yoder officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Edwin’s memory may be made to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
