Edwin H. Martin

Edwin H. Martin, 74, of 525 N. Railroad Ave., New Holland, died Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at Lancaster General Hospital, after a brief illness. Born in Earl Twp., he was the son of the late Edwin N. and Anna (Horst) Martin. Edwin worked as a self employed woodworker and was a member of the South Hinkletown Mennonite Church. Surviving are six brothers and sisters, Ruth Martin with whom he resided, Melvin, married to Lena (Sensenig) Martin of New Holland, Nora, married to Abram Rissler of Barnett, MO, Elva Martin of Barnett, MO, Anna Oberholtzer of Leola, and Alta, married to David Hoover of Ephrata; two sisters-in-law, Erla Martin of Ephrata, and Laura Martin of Myerstown; and two brothers-in-law, Daniel Hoover of Leola, and Adam Leid of East Earl. Preceding him in death are six brothers and sisters, Irwin, Mahlon, and Henry Martin, Martha Hurst, Mabel Hoover, and Miriam Leid. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 4 at 9 am at Fairmount Homes Farm Crest Chapel with further services at 9:30 am at Weaverland Mennonite Church with the Bishop Amos G. Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held on Thursday (today) from 5-8 pm at Fairmount Homes Farm Crest Chapel, 1100 Farm Crest Dr., Ephrata.
