Edwin M. Martin, 74, of 196 Tucquan Glen Rd., Holtwood, died unexpectedly Saturday evening, May 16 at his home. His wife of 53 years, Etta Z. (Burkholder) Martin, survives.
Born in New Holland, he was the son of the late Edwin S. and Elizabeth W. (Martin) Martin.
Edwin was a retired farmer and a member of Fairmount Mennonite Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children: Marvin married to Marlene (Zimmerman) Martin, Cato, NY, Rosanne married to Clifford Horst, Loysville, Loretta married to Robert Zimmerman, New Providence, Edwin Eugene Martin, Cherry Creek, SC, Noah Lee married to Kathy (Byler) Martin, Lee Center, NY, Seth Troy married to April (Brackbill) Martin, Holtwood, 23 grandchildren, two great-grandsons, seven siblings: John Martin, Denver, Elizabeth married to Amos Nolt, Peach Bottom, Paul married to Susan Martin, Stevens, Florence married to Harry Mast, Broadway, VA, Elvin married to Lois Martin, Lititz, Lydia married to Edward Good, Ephrata, Anna married to Ivan Weaver, Barnett, MO and a sister-in-law Lorraine widow of Samuel Martin, Lititz.
In addition to his brother, he was preceded in death by a sister Eva Martin and two grandsons, Joel Martin and Laurence Horst.
His funeral will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. at the Little Britain Fellowship Center with further services at 10 a.m. at Fairmount Mennonite Church with Bishop Jeremiah Sensenig, Bishop Curvin Zimmerman, Clair Hurst, Paul Newswanger and Marlin Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. at the Fairmount Mennonite Church. Kindly omit flowers. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland is in charge of arrangements.
