Edwin J. Patterson

Edwin J. Patterson, 76, of W. Conestoga St., New Holland, died Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Hospice & Community Care Inpatient Center, Mt. Joy. He is survived by his wife Honorata F. “Kathy” Patterson with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.

Born in Salisbury Twp., he was the son of the late Sylvester E. and Alice Jane (Ream) Patterson.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 through 1962, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of New Holland American Legion Post #662.

Edwin worked in maintenance for Conestoga Wood for 18 years.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughters, Astrid M. Snell and Alice Jane Ober, both of Lancaster, and Catherine Lausch of New Holland, a son Norman J. Patterson of New Holland, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a brother Richard E. Patterson of Narvon, and sisters Arlene Fitzwater of Gap and Rhoda Welsh of Elkton, MD.

He was preceded in death by a son Edwin, Jr., and a daughter Christine Patterson, a brother Robert Patterson, and a sister Evelyn Hawkins.
