Edwin G. Wanamaker

Edwin G. Wanamaker, 75, of Lancaster, formerly of New Holland, died Friday, May 9, 2014 at Lancashire Hall, Lancaster after a brief illness.

Born in Manheim Twp., he was the son of the late Earl and Velma (Wenger) Wanamaker. He would have been married 26 years on June 4 to Sandra L. (Harple) Wanamaker.

Edwin retired in 2003 as a truck driver for John S. Ewell Trucking with 3 million safe miles. After retirement he worked for Sindall Trucking for five years in parts delivery.

He was a member of the VFW in New Holland and enjoyed NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhart, Sr. and Jr. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the beach, and Sunday breakfast with his son.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Paula Sweigart of New Holland, Edwin Wanamaker, Jr. of Leola, and Patricia Buzzard of Gap; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three step-sons, Barry Simpson of Bird-in-Hand, Kirby Simpson of New Holland, and Michael Bathurst of Columbia; two step-daughters, Kelly Griffin of New Holland, Brandi Kurtz of Ephrata; 10 step-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; and a sister, Edith Rannels.
