Eleanor Glick

Eleanor Glick, age 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 6th at Fairmount Homes, Ephrata, PA. A lifelong resident of Bird-in-hand, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Velma Dussinger of Lancaster.

Eleanor graduated from East Lampeter High School. In her younger years she was employed part-time at Vintage Sales Stables and later at the Bird-in-hand post office, but her true labor of love was raising her children and grandchildren.

Eleanor has reunited with her late husband Daniel, to whom she was married 63 years. Together they raised three children, Gary, husband to Ruth, Dean, husband to Jeanie, and Teresa. Annual vacations to Ocean City, NJ and their cabin in Perry County, PA were summer trips that the family always looked forward to. When their backyard pool was built in 1970 it became the summer gathering place for countless hours of fun with family, friends and church groups.

As her children started families of their own and began their careers she transitioned to the loving grandmother who was always available to help with her grandchildren and later her great grandchildren. Her memory will live on with Gary and Ruth’s two sons, Michael and wife Megan of Magnolia, DE and their daughters Mackenzie and Madison, Bryan and wife Nicolle of Boalsburg, PA and their children Adam, Emily and Daniel, Dean and Jeanie’s daughter Jamie, and Teresa’s son Zachary and wife Ellen of Fort Collins, CO. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin LeFevre, son of Jeanie and Dean.

Eleanor is survived by her younger brother Jay Dussinger of Jacksonville, FL, and was preceded in death by her twin brother Frank Dussinger and her younger brother Jerry Dussinger, both of Lancaster.
