Elizabeth Anne “Bebe” Kruppenbach, 84, of 180 Skyline Drive, New Holland, PA, died Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mt. Joy. She is survived by her husband John A. “Jack” Kruppenbach, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage.
Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Reginald Barker and Catherine Duff Duguid (Bennett) Harrison. She was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church, Morgantown, where she was the church pianist, Children’s Choir Director, and active in adult choir and Sunday services. Bebe was also a member of the New Holland Area Women’s Club. She had formerly been a member of the United Methodist Church of Lancaster, Texas, where she was the Children’s Choir Director.
A Bachelor of Science graduate in Music Education from West Chester State Teacher’s College, now West Chester University, Bebe was a well-known vocalist in Reading during the 1940s and 50s. She was an elementary school music teacher, private voice coach, and accomplished vocalist and pianist in the Dallas area from the 1970s to early 1990s. She also performed with the Madrigal Singers at Scarborough Faire in Waxahachie, TX. Bebe enjoyed painting, traveling, reading, and composing music.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her daughters, Susan Elizabeth Kruppenbach, married to Jeffrey Miller, of Leola, Rebecca Catherine, married to Dr. James Bryan, of Amarillo, TX, and Polly Anne, married to Cameron Reagor, of Frisco, TX; six grandchildren, Kimberly Miller, Robin and Benjamin Bryan, and Jack, Will and Paige Reagor; and two sisters, Majorie Bennett Thomas of Reading, PA, and Catherine D.D. Bucher-Harrison of Andelfingen, Switzerland.
She was preceded in death by a brother Rex Harrison.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, August 3, at 11:00 a.m. at the Harmony U.M. Church, 740 Harmony Road, Route 10 North, Morgantown, PA with the Rev. Larry Frank officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A luncheon will follow. Family and friends will be received at the church, starting at 10:00 a.m. Kindly omit flowers.
