Bj Zimmerman

Elizabeth J. “BJ” Zimmerman, 74, of East Earl, passed away peacefully at home, on February 11, 2025. She was born in Lancaster, PA to her late parents, Rae R. and Helen V. (Pierce) Simpson. Her late husband, Harry W. Zimmerman died on September 17, 2020.

BJ and her family were members of Trinity Lutheran Church in New Holland where she taught Sunday School for many years and was also a member of the choir. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing mahjong, going to the theatre, researching history and genealogy, and spending time with grandchildren.

BJ is survived by her children; Eric R. Husband of Jessica, of Tyrone, PA, and Scott H. husband of Katherine, of East Earl, PA, and stepdaughter Holly McKinley and her husband Robert, of Denver, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sarah, Grace, Joseph, Benjamin, Seth, Karli, and Mason. In addition, one sister survives, Nancy St. John and her husband, William, of Atglen, PA.

In addition to her husband and parents, BJ was predeceased by her sister Patricia A. Simpson and stepson, Harry, Jr. “Chipper” Zimmerman.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 221 East Main Street, New Holland, PA. Viewings will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the church and again on Monday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery, East Earl, PA.
