Elsie L. Altpeter

Elsie L. (Doran) Altpeter, 92, a resident of Fairmount Homes, went to be with her Lord on February 23, 2025.

Born in Covington Township, she was the daughter of the late Everett W. and Dolores (Ames) Doran.

She was the wife of the late Rev. W. John Altpeter, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage until the time of his passing on May 16, 2008.

She earned her bachelor’s degree from Columbia University. In her earlier years, she was an occupational therapist and then was a homemaker. She was an active member of Trinity Church in Terre Hill and ran the library at Fairmount Homes. She was a strong supporter of Missions and was a very faithful pastor’s wife. She enjoyed traveling all around the world with her husband.

Elsie is survived by her children, Dr. Heidi Zimmerman wife of Levi Zimmerman, Paul Altpeter husband of Teri Smith-Altpeter, and Hollie Kemper; her grandchildren, Christian J. Zimmerman, Amy Zimmerman, Jordan Zimmerman, Ashley Kemper, Brett Kemper, Eric Altpeter and Katie Osgood; and great grandchildren, Charlotte, Miles, Nathan and Joey.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Lois Setzer.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Trinity Church, 110 E Main Street, Terre Hill PA with Pastor Neal Martin officiating. A visitation will be held at 11:00 AM prior to the service. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairmount Sharing Fund, 333 Wheat Ridge Drive, Ephrata PA 17522 or to EC Global Missions, 110 W Park Avenue, Myerstown PA 17067.
