Elva Oberholtzer Burkholder

Elva O. Burkholder, 85, a resident of Lincoln Christian Home, formerly of Peach Bottom, passed away on Saturday. August 29, 2026.

She was the wife of the late Delmas Burkholder who died in 2009. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Paul M. and Ida N. Oberholtzer Martin.

Elva had been an LPN at Ephrata Hospital for 35 years. She was a member of the Fairmount Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.

Surviving are six step-children, Robert husband of Esther Burkholder of New Bloomfield, Eugene husband of Janice Burkholder of Richfield, Nelson husband of Norene Burkholder of Quarryville, Delmas husband of Lois Burkholder of Lebanon, Nancy wife of Elvin Nolt of Richland, and Jay husband of Suzanne Burkholder of Peach Bottom; 34 step grandchildren; 105 step great grandchildren; a sister, Irene Hurst of East Earl; a brother, Norman husband of Ruth Martin of Myerstown; a brother-in-law Vernon husband of Edith Burkholder of Mifflintown: sister-in-law Martha Burkholder of Ephrata; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brother’s-in-law Samuel W. Hurst, Walter Burkholder, Chester and sister-in-law Esther Mae Burkholder.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 3rd, at 9:30 A.M. at the Fairmount Mennonite Church, 520 Little Britain Road North, Quarryville, PA with Bishp Curvin Zimmerman officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. Viewings will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Martindale Mennonite Fellowship Center, 352 Martindale Road, Ephrata, PA.
