Elvin H. Martin

Elvin H. Martin, 86, of Lititz, passed away Monday, February 17, 2014 at the home of his daughter with whom he resided.

He was married January 17, 1953, to Martha N. Weaver who passed away October 2008.

Elvin was born in Ephrata Twp., to Ervin B. and Anna H. Martin on February 21, 1927.

He was a farmer and a member of Pequea Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference).

Surviving are six children: Marian (Elvin Hursh), Lititz; Lois (Ben Stoltzfus), Honey Brook; Merle (Erla Martin), Lititz; Elaine (Jay Horst), Scipio Center, NY; Janice (Eugene Burkholder), Richfield; and Kevin (Eva Jane Zimmerman), Lititz. Also surviving is a daughter-in-law Vicky Worden Martin, Philippines; 36 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 46 step-great grandchildren; and three step great-great grandchildren; brother Ammon H. Martin, Ephrata and Adin H. Martin, Mt. Joy; and sisters Elsie Brubaker (Lester), Plymouth, OH; Alta Leid (the late Aaron) Plymouth, OH; and Nora Hoover (Elam), New Holland.

Preceding him in death was a son Galen; a granddaughter; a brother Earl H. (Lucy of NY) Martin, and a sister Miriam Snyder (Paul of New Holland).

His funeral will be held on Friday, February 21 at 9 a.m. at Fairmount Homes Farm Crest Chapel with further services at 9:30 a.m. at Meadow Valley Mennonite Church with Bishop Curvin Zimmerman, Paul Newswanger, Elam Ray Martin and Gary Zimmerman officiating. Interment in Meadow Valley Mennonite Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Fairmount Homes Farm Crest Chapel. Kindly omit flowers.
