Emanuel M. Yoder

Emanuel M. “Manny” Yoder, 86, of 3310 South St., Morgantown, died Monday, December 26, 2011, at Reading Hospital and Medical Center, following a brief illness. He is the husband of Marian R. (St. Clair) Yoder. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Feb. 23. Born in Belleville, he was the son of the late John P. and Saloma (Kauffman) Yoder. He was a truck driver having worked for Branch Trucking, John S. Ewell, and Zook Molasses. He finally worked part time, until age 82, for Eby Truck Bodies in Blue Ball. He was a member of the Bridgeville E.C. Church where he taught SS for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in Sullivan County. He enjoyed gardening and yard work. He was a man of great faith and lived it. He was a WWII Veteran in the US Army, serving in the Philippines. Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, E. Nicholas, married to Catherine (Baxter) Yoder of Lancaster; two grandsons, Robert and Brian Yoder; two great grandchildren, Mekhi and Bryce; a sister and two brothers, Mary, married to John Beiler, John Yoder both of Belleville, and Raymond Yoder of Colorado. Preceding him in death is a sister Ruth Baker; and two brothers, Isaiah and Steve Yoder. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 31 at 10:30 am at the Bridgeville Evangelical Congregational Church, 5971 Division Hwy., Narvon, PA 17555 with the Reverend Philip Walck officiating. Interment in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Sonestown, PA. Friends may call at the Church on Saturday from 9:30 – 10:30 am. If desired, memorials may be sent to the Bridgeville E.C. Church, address above.
