Emma May Shirk, 89, a resident of Maple Farm Nursing Center, passed away on March 1, 2026.
Born in East Earl, she was the daughter of the late Thoedore Kenneth and Ida May (McAfee) Bannon.
She was the wife of the late I. Eugene Shirk, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage until the time of his passing on November 8, 2006.
She was a member of Churchtown United Methodist Church and was a waitress at Shady Maple Smorgasbord for 20 years. She loved going to their family cabin at Raytown Lake and working in her flower gardens.
Emma is survived by her son, Dennis E., married to Karen (Reedy) Shirk, three daughters, Vickie L., widow of Dennis Stoltzfus, Linda S., married to Lennie Martin, and Donna M., wife of Greg Baxter, five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and her sister. Mary Andrew.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter in law, Debra Shirk and siblings, Charles Bannon and Edna Becker.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Churchtown United Methodist Church, 2170 Main Street, Narvon PA 17555. A Viewing will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service in the church. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the church at the address above.
Groff High Funeral Home in New Holland is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
