Emma H. Witmer

Emma H. Witmer, 86, of New Holland, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025. She was born in West Earl Township, to her late parents, Jonas and Emma (Hoover) Good. Emma was married to Jacob W. Witmer for 64 years.

Emma was the former owner of Witmer Quilt Shop, and she was a member of Groffdale Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

In addition to her husband, Emma is survived by her children, Alfred Witmer, of Dayton, VA, Emma Ruth, wife of Aaron Martin, of Salisbury, NC, Ernest, husband of Wilma (Zimmerman) Witmer, of Shiloh, OH, Rosella, wife of Wayne Keeny, of Sinking Spring, Earl, husband of Marlene (Horning) Witmer, of Leola, Eldon, husband of Joy (Ebersole) Witmer, of Leola and Annie, wife of Allen Ray Martin, of New Holland. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren and one sister, Mabel Burkholder, of Fleetwood, PA.

In addition to her parents, Emma was predeceased by her brother, David Good, three sisters, Sarah Newswanger, Rebecca Wenger, Barbara Rissler, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, beginning at 9:30 AM at Groffdale Mennonite Church, 90 Groffdale Church Road, Leola, PA, with Bishop Ammon Weaver officiating. The viewings will be held at the late home, 1076 West Main Street, New Holland, PA, on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Groffdale Mennonite Cemetery adjoining the church.
