Eric Reid Slick

Eric Reid Slick, 42, of Lancaster, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016 in Victor, ID.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Donald and Kathryn (Fischer) Slick of Lancaster. He was married to Kelly Sullivan.

Eric was a 1991 graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School and also from West Virginia University. He was a self-employed skilled carpenter and was affiliated with the Otterbein United Methodist Church.

He loved the freedom of the big mountains, biking, and skiing. Above all, Eric loved Tanner and instilled his love of the outdoors, the mountains, and the bicycle, to his son.

Surviving in addition to his wife and parents is his son, Tanner Reid Slick; two sisters, Kristina Slick of East Petersburg, and Rebecca “Reba” Slick of Lancaster; and two nephews, Benjamin and Andrew Willard of East Petersburg.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 12 at 2 pm at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 20 E. Clay St., Lancaster, with the Reverend Jonette Gay officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1-2 pm. Private burial will be at the Bergstrasse Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Eric Slick Memorial Fund which has been established solely for the benefit of his son, Tanner Slick.
