Erlyne T. Freshley

Erlyne T. Freshley, 89, of 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, formerly of West Chester, died Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Garden Spot Village. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Richard R. Freshley. They met in 3rd grade; played Hansel and Gretel in a play that year, and were together ever since.

Born in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Albert Kern and Mabel (Loose) Lentz.

Prior to her marriage, she was a telephone operator but was a homemaker for most of her life. She loved music, pottery, crafts and cross stitch and being at the beach. She also delivered Meals on Wheels in West Chester for many years.

She was currently a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, New Holland and was a former member of Calvary Lutheran Church in West Chester. She was a former member of the West Chester Golf and Country Club.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three children: John R. Freshley, Chester Springs; Sheryl A. Hoover (Bruce), Monument, CO; Robert A. Freshley (Marjorie), East Fallowfield, PA four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister Ruth Bullock, Honey Brook and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Susan Wyble and a brother Mervin Lentz.

A memorial service will be held at Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, PA 17557 on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 2 p.m. with Chaplain Chester Yoder officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the chapel on Sunday from 1 – 2 p.m. Kindly omit flowers.
