Esther H. Shirk, 78, of 2030 Turkey Hill Road, Narvon, died Saturday, February 3, 2018 at her home after a lengthy illness.

Born in West Earl Twp., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Hoover) Nolt. She was married 57 years on November 4 to Paul M. Shirk.

Esther was a homemaker and a member of the Churchtown Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Kenneth, married to Janet (Zimmerman) Shirk of Narvon; 10 grandchildren; 8 sisters, Frances Martin of Quarryville, Minnie, married to John Snyder of Ephrata, Anna, married to Jonas Zeiset of Narvon, Edna, married to Aaron Zimmerman of Denver, Ella, married to Melvin Martin of Ephrata, Ada Mae, married to Lawrence Martin of Martinsburg, Martha, married to Amos Martin of Shippensburg, and Arlene, married to Aaron Sensenig of East Earl; and 3 brothers, Ervin, married to Beverly (Root) Nolt of Leola, Paul, married to Anna (Garman) Nolt of Martinsburg, and Warren, married to Florence (Zimmerman) Nolt of Leola; a sister-in-law, Rebecca Nolt of Ephrata; and a brother-in-law, Titus Reiff of Mifflinburg.

Preceding her in death is a granddaughter, Elizabeth Shirk; a grandson, Samuel Shirk; a brother, Ivan Nolt; a sister, Mary Reiff; and a brother-in-law, Edwin Martin.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 9 at 9 am at the late home with further services at 9:30 am at Churchtown Mennonite Church with the Bishop Eli Burkholder officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held at the late home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Kindly omit flowers. Arrangements by Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill.
