Esther Z. Hoover

Esther Z. Hoover, 86, of Narvon, PA, died on Sunday July 13, 2025, at her residence. Esther was born in Caernarvon Twp., to the late Joseph and Marth Shirk. She was the wife of Ivan N. Hoover for 64 years of marriage.

Esther was a homemaker and a member of the Churchtown Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference).

In addition to her husband, Esther is survived by her nine children, Irene, wife of David Eberly, Vernon, husband of Mary Ella (Zimmerman) Hoover, Edward, husband of Lucy (Eberly) Hoover, Esther, wife of Lowell Zimmerman, Mary Hoover and Miriam Hoover, all of Dundee, NY, Lloyd Stauffer, husband of the late Florence (Hoover) Stauffer, of East Earl, Anna Hoover, Joseph, husband of Esther Mae (Zimmerman) Hoover and Vera, wife of Nelson Lee Hoover, all of Narvon. She is also survived by forty-four grandchildren and seventy great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by a daughter, Florence and a great grandchild, Nathan Zimmerman.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, beginning at 9:30 AM, at Churchtown Old Order Mennonite Church, 2207 Main Street, Narvon, PA. Viewings will be held at the late home, 2590 Hammertown Road, Narvon, PA, on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Burial will occur in the adjoining church cemetery.
