Esther N. Nolt

Esther N. (High) Nolt, 92, of Ephrata, died Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Fairmount Homes. Her husband, Irwin W. Nolt, preceded her in death in 2021.

Born in West Earl Twp., she was the daughter of the late Elmer Z. and Mary B. (Nolt) High.

Esther worked at various businesses in the area, last working in the deli at Weaver Markets. She was a member of Springville Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.

Surviving are two daughters: Marilyn H. (Leland) Martin, East Earl and Mary E. (Ray) Zimmerman, Denver, 7 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and two sisters: Vera N. (the late Clarence) Zimmerman, New Holland and Laura N. (the late Ivan) Martin, Ephrata.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 10 siblings: Mary N. (Eli) Hoover, Emmaline N. (Phares) Reiff, Lydia N. (Amos) Sensenig, Ada N. (Wilmer) Long, Melvin N. (Verna) High, Aaron N. (Anna) High, Edwin N. (Mary) High, Elmer N. High, John N. (Nora) High and Ivan N. (Arlene) High.

The Nolt family would like to thank Fairmount Homes staff for their patience and excellent care of Esther.

Her funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Springville Mennonite Church with Bishop Melvin Martin, Wilmer Martin, Walter Martin, and Walter Zimmerman officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 5p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fairmount Homes Wheat Ridge Chapel. Kindly omit flowers. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland is in charge of arrangements.
