Esther S. Martin, 87, of Ephrata, passed away on June 3, 2026, at Lincoln Christian Home, surrounded by her loving family. Esther was born in Ephrata Township to her late parents, Elmer M. and Elizabeth H. (Shirk) Burkholder. Her beloved husband, Raymond W. Martin, survives at Lincoln Christian Home.

Esther was a homemaker and a member of Groffdale Mennonite Church-Weaverland Conference. She found joy in quilting and volunteering her time at the Ephrata ReUzit shop.

In addition to her husband, Esther is survived by her children, David Martin and his wife Rhoda, of Ephrata, Margaret Wenger and her husband Nelson, of Stevens, Martha Ann Brubaker and her husband Leonard, Jr., of Richland, Stephen Martin and his wife JoAnn, of Ephrata, Janice Martin and her husband William, of Due West, SC, Jonathan Martin and his wife Lavonna, of Free Union, VA, 27 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren, five step-great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. In addition, Esther is survived by her sister, Anna Wise, of Seneca Falls, NY and a brother-in-law Adam Zimmerman, of Ephrata.

In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Zimmerman and a son-in-law, Warren Auker.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, beginning at 9:30 AM, at Groffdale Mennonite Church-Weaverland Conference, 90 Groffdale Church Road, Leola, PA, with Bishop Curvin Zimmerman officiating. Viewings will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Farmcrest Chapel at Fairmount Homes, 1100 Farm Crest Drive, Ephrata, PA. Burial will occur in the adjoining church cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
