Esther M. Sweigart

Esther M. Sweigart, 89, of 400 Lancaster Ave., Stevens, formerly of 213 Red Well Rd., New Holland, died Wednesday, May 9 at Denver Nursing Home. Her husband, Curtis E. Sweigart, died on February 17, 2011.

Born in Oregon, PA, she was the daughter of the late Aaron and Susan Roland.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and cooking.

Surviving are four children: Gloria Allgyer, Kinzers; Curtis E. Sweigart, Jr., married to Geraldine F. Sweigart, New Holland; Ann married to Larry Englerth, New Holland; and Larry married to Paula Sweigart, New Holland; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Dienner; a son-in-law, Elmer Allgyer; and 11 siblings: Elsie Brown, John Roland, Paul Roland, Ambrose Roland, Walter Roland, Alvin Roland, Lester Roland, Henry Roland, Caroline Boley, Anna Ressler, and Mary Diem.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, May 14 at 10 AM at Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland with Rev. Kevin Readman officiating. Interment will be in Ranck’s United Methodist Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 6 – 8 PM and on Monday from 9 – 10 AM.
