Ethel M. Martin

Ethel M. Martin, 82, of Ephrata, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of Dale Martin, with whom she shared over 60 years of marriage.

Born in Jonestown, Lebanon County, Ethel was a daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Hauser) Eisenhour.

Ethel was a member of Hinkletown Mennonite Church who in her spare time enjoyed reading, gardening (especially flowers), collecting dolls, shopping, and children and babies.

In addition to her husband, Ethel is survived by 3 children: Wendy Means, wife of Paul, of Gordonville, Donna Martin of Blue Ball, and Terry Martin of Terre Hill; 3 siblings: Donald Eisenhour, husband of Jane, of Carlisle, Harold Eisenhour, husband of Doris, of Lebanon, and Julia Milanchus of Annville; 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Carol Jean Martin, her step-father, Charlie Milanchus, 6 Brothers: Arthur, Lloyd, Carl, Lester, Luther, and Clarence; and 5 sisters: Pauline, Doris Jean, Patricia, Shirley, and Dorothy.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 11 AM at Hinkletown Mennonite Church, 2031 Division Highway, Ephrata, PA 17522 with Glenn Sauder and Jerold Sauder officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Visitation will occur on Friday at the church from 9-11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ethel’s honor may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 N. Beauregard St., Alexandria VA 22311. Arrangements by Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland.
